George Bowering on George Stanley, Baseball Fan

George Bowering

While I was in Vancouver for the Subud Zones Conference, I interviewed George Stanley about his Vancouver: A Poem and After Desire. But I was also able to get a few minutes of George Bowering‘s time so he could record his piece entitled Two Bits on the Green Guy. It is a prose piece about going to see baseball games with George Stanley, how they have their little rituals and who loses when they bet on the peculiar between-innings game that most baseball stadiums have today. I love how George laughs at his own work! Listen and enjoy.
