Make It True CoverThere are a few developments with the Make It True anthology and the combination of bioregionalism and poetry. I hope you’ll help us get the word out about some events coming up. It was great to meet so many of the poets in the book for the first time last Wednesday in Vancouver. I’d love to see more readings from the anthology, so do consider hosting a reading for the book and/or working with us to create a one-day version of the Cascadia Poetry Festival. We are working on several locations for the one day and three day fests right now. I am also about to edit the audio from Wednesday’s Vancouver reading.

George Stanley & Joanne Kyger CPF2 Poetics Panel

1) George Stanley in Seattle, Monday, Jan 25, 8pm. It’s a rare appearance from this legendary poet who was part of the Spicer circle with Robert Duncan, Robin Blaser, Joanne Kyger and others in the late 50s and early 60s in San Francisco. There is open mic at this event. Signup 7:30.

2) A Massive Open Online Course on Innovative Cascadia Poetry through Cascadia College in Bothell, WA. We intend to be streaming the course-opening and closing panels. Details:

3) August Poetry Postcard Fest. The call goes out July 4 and it is a great way to keep your hand in writing poems in August. A $10 signup fee benefits the 4th Cascadia Poetry Fest. Details:

4) CPF4 in Seattle, Nov 3-6, 2016. We are hoping to have another large Make It True reading, but that’s not yet been finalized.

5) New site: Cascadia Poetics LAB. We’d sure love your bioregional poetry content for that, if you have something you want out there.
